Reflecting on RCN Congress 2024
This year, the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Congress was held in Wales, and it was an honour for us to attend! Our Director at Hoop Nursing & Healthcare, Rhian Smith, took part in a panel that highlighted the incredible opportunities available in the independent sector. Rhian shared her career journey and talked about how Hoop supports healthcare professionals.
The event gave us the chance to meet and chat with some fantastic nurses from both the private and public sectors. The RCN did an outstanding job organising the congress, and having it in Wales made it extra special.
“For me, this was the first congress since the pandemic, and being around so many inspiring people was overwhelming in the best way. I had the privilege of speaking about how Hoop Recruitment LTD supports the independent sector and contributes to positive patient experiences. There’s often a negative view of “agencies,” but it was rewarding to talk about the importance of ethical agencies and how we support our nurses and staff.
Seeing the independent sector get attention at the congress was exciting, and I believe this is just the beginning. Both the NHS and the independent sector need each other, and our shared goal is to ensure positive patient experiences.
I learned a lot and met remarkable individuals this week, and I’m grateful for everyone’s time and insights. I look forward to continuing to support the independent sector and fostering positive changes.”
