Intake Team - Qualified social worker – Full time
Vale of Glamorgan Council
Pay rate in line with the All Wales Pledge
A Qualified Social Worker is required on a locum basis for an initial 6 month contract to join the Vale of Glamorgan Social Services Childrens Intake and Assessment Team. Ideally a full time candidate is required but those looking for a 4 day working week will be considered. This position allows for hybrid working. Pay rate is negotiable subject to experience but max pay rate will be in line with the All Wales Pledge.
This team is overseen by the Intake Team manager, 3 practitioner managers, 6 social workers, 4 social care officers, 2 family aids and Business support. The team works on 3 weekly cycles, on duty one week, and then off the following etc. Workers in this team must be able to travel to the Vale as needed. We are looking to recruit experienced agency workers who have experience of working with similar teams, and who are able to manage a caseload of competing demands. The team is located in Barry, within the Vale of Glamorgan so we are looking for workers who are able to attend the office every day on their duty week, and who can attend at least three days a weeks or as and when service needs require. This team completes a range of assessments, conducts section 47 enquiries and establishes whether longer term plans are needed for families. They also are involved in issuing court proceedings where needed. The priority for this team is assessing what is needed to support children and families, if anything and then moving this support to the right team. Families will also be transferred to our family support teams if intervention is longer than 3 months This is fast paced where every day is different.
