Job Role:
As a Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will play a crucial role in supporting students' educational and emotional development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Assist in delivering engaging lessons and activities that meet the individual needs of students.
- One-on-One Support: Work closely with students who require additional assistance, providing tailored support to help them overcome learning challenges and achieve their full potential.
- Behavioural Guidance: Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and respectful classroom environment. Support students in developing social and emotional skills.
- Resource Preparation: Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, ensuring that resources are readily available to support the delivery of lessons.
- Progress Monitoring: Help assess students' progress and provide feedback to teachers. Record observations and maintain accurate records to assist in evaluating individual student development.
Requirements:
- Experience and Qualifications: Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in a primary school setting is desirable. Relevant qualifications or training in education or child development are advantageous.
- Empathy and Patience: Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and support their emotional well-being. Patient and understanding when working with diverse learners.
- Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and students effectively. Ability to adapt communication style to suit the needs of different individuals.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to work in different classroom settings and adapt to the unique requirements of various students. Proactive in responding to changing circumstances.
- Enhanced DBS Check: All applicants must possess an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate or be willing to undergo the necessary checks.
