Social Worker Family Support Team (North)

Monmouthshire

Pay rate £38.43 in line with the All Wales Pledge

A locum opportunity has arisen within Monmouthshire Social Services' Family Support and Protection Team North. This is fantastic opportunity to join a high performing Local Authority offering a friendly and supportive team environment. This position offers hybrid working based at Usk, and 2 days from home.  Contract will run for an initial 3-6 month contract to cover a permanent position. Pay rate is up to £38.43 per hour umbrella company subject to experience in this arena and in line with the maximum rate set out by ADSS.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the assessment and planning for children, young people and their families who are considered to require Social Care involvement to ensure their health and well-being and protection from neglect and abuse
  • You will be required to complete assessments and progress plans that evidence an improvement in the welfare of children and young people within a time frame that is appropriate for the child/young person. In cases
  • Responsible for preparation of written evidence and the progression of the case to legal proceedings
  • Your case load will consist of cases that require a high level of statutory intervention including Child Protection, Private and Public law cases
  • Responsible for adoption orders where required

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
  • Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
  • 3 Years of referencing 
  • Driving license with access to a car
