Adults Social Worker

Wrexham

Pay rate £41.12 per hour

Hybrid-working

Qualified Social Workers are required to join Wrexham County Borough Council within the Single Point of Contact Team and also the Older Persons Teams. Both contracts are offering initial 3 month contracts and hybrid working.

The Team for Older People accepts referrals for individuals living in the community, care home residents and those currently in hospital. Areas of social work you will encounter on the team include but are not limited to multi-disciplinary working with families, unpaid carers, third sector and health professionals; assistive technology; supporting unpaid carers; reablement; direct payments; working with those living with Dementia diagnoses; hospital discharge and hospital avoidance; safeguarding; self-neglect; Mental Capacity and Best Interest decision-making; Continuing Healthcare assessments; intervention under the Mental Health Act; and Court of Protection. As part of the team you’ll enjoy a supportive work environment, including allocation of both a supervisor and a mentor, regular peer support group sessions, robust supervision and management support, attendance at regular team and locality meetings, and excellent daily peer support.

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
  • Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
  • 3 Years of referencing
  • Driving license with access to a car

In addition our client is looking for someone who has:

  • Well-developed Communication skills
  • Ability to write and present reports to a high standard.
  • Ability to organise and prioritize work.
  • Proven skills in assessment
  • Understanding the role, function and organisation of Social Services
  • Ability to develop key relationships with other teams, services, agencies and organisations
  • Ability to work independently using own initiative.
  • Demonstrates the expected values and behaviours set out in the Code of Professional practice and Council values
