Social Worker - Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers
Cardiff
up to £38.43 per hour Umbrella company
We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to undertake and promote the effective assessment of Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children including those in Age Assessment/Dispute to join Cardiff County Council for an initial 3 month contract until the end of April. This is a full time position offering hybrid working to start ASAP. Pay rate for this position is in line with the All Wales Pledge, and up to £38.43 per hour.
This should also encompass care planning, intervention and review for UASC cases including children in need of being children looked after and/or protection, including circumstances where it is necessary for the local authority to initiate legal proceedings to safeguard children and to further consider their immigration status. . You will bring experience of managing a caseload of ranging complexity and problems, and competing demands. You will have knowledge of legislation, case law in relation to UASC / age assessments and its application.
To apply for this role, you will need to hold -
- A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
- A relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 Years of referencing
- Driving license with access to a car
