Location: Various Secondary Schools throughout Vale of Glamorgan

Job Type: Flexible (Day-to-Day Cover, Long Term Opportunities)

Hoop Education is currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors to work in various Secondary Schools throughout the Vale of Glamorgan. This role involves providing general cover for day-to-day absences of teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise pupils while they complete work pre-prepared by a teacher.
  • Manage pupil behaviour during lessons.
  • Address any immediate issues or problems.
  • Familiarise yourself with and adhere to the school's policies and procedures.
  • Develop curricular knowledge in line with school requirements.
  • Apply the school’s behaviour management policy and report any difficulties to the department lead or senior leadership team.
  • Set and provide homework under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Administer class tests if requested.
  • Supervise the work of the teaching assistant, providing support if required.
  • Ensure students remain on task through effective classroom management.
  • Assist students where required and ensure lessons are delivered smoothly.
  • Collect completed work and pass it to the class teacher.
Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven track record of managing or leading groups of 10+ individuals.
  • Experience can include working with children, youth work, or adults with learning difficulties.
  • Ability to adapt to different school environments and needs.
