Description
Hoop Education team are looking for a skilled and dedicated Design and Technology Technician to join secondary schools in Cardiff and Bridgend. This opportunity will allow you to work alongside a fantastic Design and Technology department to ensure lessons run smoothly whilst providing essential support to both teachers and students within the school. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, maintain, and manage equipment, materials, and tools used in Design and Technology lessons, including woodwork, metalwork, electronics, and textiles.
  • Assist teaching staff during practical lessons, ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed.
  • Experience in using a 2D Cutter, competent in cutting down materials on a table saw.
  • Support students with practical tasks, offering guidance on the correct use of equipment and materials.
  • Organise and maintain a safe working environment in the workshop and classrooms.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as required.
Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a technician, ideally within a Design and Technology department.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures in a workshop environment.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or experience in Design and Technology (preferred but not essential).
