Social Worker - Adults with Learning Disabilities Team

Cardiff

Pay rate up to £35 per hour umbrella company

We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Social Worker to join Cardiff Adults with Learning Disabilities Team. Full time hours are preferable but happy to consider applications from those offering part time hours. Pay rate is to be discussed per submission to Cardiff. This role offers hybrid working between Canton, and home.

The team works with adults with a learning disability who also have other complexities associated with their conditions, e.g. ASD, communication difficulties, challenging behaviour, additional physical/mental health needs. Social Workers in the team have active involvement with long-term cases.. They support service users living in a range of settings, e.g. in residential/Supported Living placements and those living within the community with their families. Social Workers in the team are involved in undertaking Assessments, Reviews and Care Planning and need to have the enthusiasm to play an active role in delivering a high quality service to our service users.

You would be expected to work within the legislative framework (e.g. Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2015) along with demonstrating an understanding of risk management and how to work in a strength-based, outcome focused way.

To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
  • Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
  • 3 Years of referencing
  • Driving license with access to a car
