Qualified Social Worker - Older Persons Mental Health Team
Part time 2.5 days per week
Chepstow, Monmouthshire
up to £37 per hour payrolled via an umbrella company
We are looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join Monmouthshire County Council for an initial 3 month period. This is a part time position predominantly based on site in Chepstow Hospital; 2.5 days per week to undertake predominatly care planning work, assessments and reviews. Pay rate for this role is in line with the market rate of £35 - £37 per hour.
Duties and responsibilities for this role include:
- Managing a complex case load of clients with secondary mental health needs
- Undertake capacity act assessments
- Best interest meetings
- Section 117
The team provides support to individuals over 65 who come under secondary mental health services under the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010, as well as individuals under 65 diagnosed with dementia whether they are in primary or secondary mental health services.
Ideal candidates will have but we are happy to receive applications from candidates with adults services experience. You will need to hold a relevant social work qualification and be registered with Social Care Wales.

- Experience of working with older people with mental health needs (or generic adults experience)
- A relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales
- Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 Years of referencing
- Driving license with access to a car
