Supervising Social Worker - Fostering

Locum opportunity
Pay rate £37 per hour via umbrella company
A Qualified Social Worker is required ideally on a part time basis to join tCardiff Social Services fostering service as a Supervising Social Worker (mainstream). This position is 3 days per week and will start at the end of the October. Part time applications will be considered for condensed working weeks but a full time worker is preferable. You will be predominantly home based but expected to be on site as and when required approximately once every 2 weeks. Pay rate for this position is up to £38.43 via an umbrella company in line with the All Wales pledge.. Duration of contract is subject to the appointment of a permanent worker but likely to be for an initial 3 months. The role offers largely remote working but you will be required to be office based at County Hall typically one day a week or 1/2 a day a week. On site days will coincide with duty cover which is typically 2 main duty days per month and 2 back up days. Back up days can be worked from home but workers are needed to be able to travel in and around Cardiff on these days.
In this role you will be responsible for carrying a caseload of approximately 16 foster carers, and in addition you may be required to take on one form f assessment. You will be expected to visit foster carers and participate in duty rota as and when required.
To apply for this role you will need to be a qualified Social Worker and possess a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and their impact on fostering services. You will be a strong communicator, both written and verbal, have good IT skills and be flexible and able to travel throughout the area.

- A relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales
- Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 Years of referencing
- Driving license with access to a car
