Social Worker - Family Support & Protection Team
Pay rate up to £38.43 per hour in line with ADSS pledge
Usk, Monmouthshire

A locum opportunity has arisen within Monmouthshire Social Services' Family Support and Protection Team. This is fantastic opportunity to join a high performing Local Authority offering a friendly and supportive team environment. This position is primarily based at Usk but home working is encouraged  as well as office working. You will be covering the South of the County which includes Caldicott, Chepstow and Magor. Contract will run for an initial 3-6 month contract to cover a permanent position. Pay rate is up to £38.43 per hour umbrella company in line with the ADSS pledge.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the assessment and planning for children, young people and their families who are considered to require Social Care involvement to ensure their health and well-being and protection from neglect and abuse
  • You will be required to complete assessments and progress plans that evidence an improvement in the welfare of children and young people within a time frame that is appropriate for the child/young person. In cases
  • Responsible for preparation of written evidence and the progression of the case to legal proceedings
  • Your case load will consist of cases that require a high level of statutory intervention including Child Protection, Private and Public law cases
  • Responsible for adoption orders where required

Requirements for this role:

  • Relevant social work qualification
  • Registration with the Social Care Wales
