Secondary Teacher

We are currently working with a secondary school to recruit motivated and confident Cover Supervisor. This role involves delivering pre-planned lessons across the school. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining classroom discipline, ensuring students stay on task, and supporting their learning during lessons, all while promoting a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons to students across different subjects
• Maintain classroom discipline in line with school policies
• Provide support and guidance to students to ensure they engage with the lesson content
• Be flexible and ready to step into different classroom environments at short notice
• Use a range of behaviour management techniques as required
• Support students in achieving their best within a structured environment

The Successful Applicant Will Be:

• Confident and enthusiastic with a passion for supporting young people’s education
• Experienced in working with groups of students in an educational or similar setting (e.g., coaching, tutoring, lecturing)
• Comfortable covering a wide range of subjects using pre-planned work
• Able to adapt quickly to new environments and deliver lessons with minimal guidance
• Confident in managing classroom behaviour effectively
• Willing to work on short notice and support the school’s needs

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Subject specialism (e.g., Maths, PE) may be preferred for specific lessons
• Experience as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or teaching assistant looking to progress into a cover supervisor role is highly valued
• Previous experience in coaching, tutoring, or lecturing is a plus

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (we can assist with the application process)
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
• Safeguarding training (provided by Hoop)

Training and Support:
We offer all our registered candidates a number of FREE training courses to ensure that you are fully prepared for your role. Full support will be provided to assist with the DBS process.
